Fencing is a sport that embodies speed, timing, and precision.

It’s an art form, a classic gentleman’s sport, and unique in being featured in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. It’s known for its lightning-fast action, with the fencing sword being the second fastest moving object in sports, only surpassed by a bullet.

I began my journey in fencing during primary school when it was offered as part of our physical education program. From my first year all the way through to my senior year, I was a dedicated member of the varsity team, regularly competing and winning medals and championships. After graduating in 2005, I took a break and moved to Las Vegas in 2007.

Though I continued to fence occasionally, my passion was reignited when I met my coach, Frank Van Dyke, in 2011/2012.

A world-class fencer who trained with the German Olympic team in the 1980s, Frank became my mentor. Under his guidance, I embarked on my second competitive career and began my Olympic training. With Frank as my coach, I continued to compete and win medals in championships, furthering my love and dedication to the sport.
